Social Responsibility - YOUTH

Parents:

Did you know that by Grade 10, over two thirds of New Brunswick children have already taken a drink of alcohol?

That means there is a 70 per cent chance that your child is one of them.

Talking to your children about alcohol consumption is the first step in awareness and responsible consumption.  Contrary to popular opinion, parents have a great deal of influence over their children when it comes to drinking.  What you say, and especially what you do, is of prime importance to your children’s future behaviour.

ANBL has developed a brochure entitled "Be Prepared To Talk To Your Children About Drinking". The guide is divided into sections, and includes information for parents on how to talk about alcohol with children of every every age. Download it and start talking today.

Schools:

ANBL’s responsibility to the community begins at elementary school. To date, ANBL has sponsored five elementary schools in New Brunswick to be the recipient of Mother’s Against Drunk Driving’s ACE program. ACE delivers messages about the brain and how alcohol affects it, the dangers of drinking and driving, and protection from unsafe drivers.
